FORWARD PROGRESS MADDEN #14: 4-2-5 UNDER RUN DEFENSE
Hello football fans, welcome back to another edition of Forward Progress.
In the video above I’m showing how to achieve gap integrity out of the 4-2-5 Under formation. This run defense is very similar in technique to the 4-3 Over Plus setup that was shown earlier this week (check the video out for help). Add this to your defensive arsenal, stuff the run, and rack up wins!
Here’s how to set up this run defense:
PLAY: 4-2-5 Under – Cover 1
STEP 1: Shift DL left
STEP 2: Reblitz nosetackle
STEP 3: Place RDE in buzz zone
STEP 4: Show blitz
STEP 5: Place SS at LB depth over the RG
STEP 6: User FS (in spy assignment) on TE side, react to weak side run
